Time to settle in
Your room shapes the quieter hours of the journey. Lindu offers twin and king rooms with sofa beds, as well as a larger suite with a separate sitting area. Shifang’s four-berth compartments offer a different, shared way to travel. Compare the sleeping arrangement as well as the photograph.
At the table
Meals connect the train with the places along its route. Chengdu’s Golden Panda Restaurant draws on Sichuan ingredients and flavours, with large windows beside its dining tables. Shifang’s Xinjiang itinerary combines dining-car meals, hotel breakfasts and local restaurants.
- Shifang’s route includes regional meals such as Burqin cold-water fish, lamb dishes and a Turpan fruit feast.
- Lindu has Chinese and Western dining spaces. Included meals and any dietary arrangements depend on the chosen itinerary.
Space between the stops
On Lindu, the tea room and library make room for reading and conversation, while the jazz bar provides another place to gather. Chengdu’s Yuefu Hall and Liuyun Pavilion bring their own Sichuan-inspired character to shared time aboard. The spaces and activities vary by train.
A journey on and off the train
Some days are given to the railway itself: Shifang’s itinerary includes a full day aboard for sightseeing and leisure. Other days move between the train, a coach and a destination. Journeys can include hotels or other overnight stays, so the day-by-day itinerary is the best guide to where you will sleep and how much time you will spend aboard.
